Universal has announced a variety of new menu items and room theme concepts for their upcoming dining location in Universal Studios Florida, the Illumination’s Minion Café.

Below is the concept art image Universal released for the Illumination’s Minion Café. It is due to open this summer at Universal Orlando Resort.

This new eatery has been in progress for months at Universal Studios Florida. In preparation for the grand summer 2023 opening of the Illumination’s Minion Land, Universal has released a sneak peek at a few of the menu items that will be offered at this location.

In addition, Universal announced that the café will have an express window with a limited menu. This will allow park visitors to quickly grab a bite to eat. This reduced menu has not yet been released, but we’ll let you know as soon as there are more details available.

The new café will feature nearly twenty brand new menu items, including “inventive, family-friendly fare” inspired by beloved characters.

Included in the newly announced menu items are “Despica-bowls,” which we have pictures for below:

While details for these dishes have not yet been released, it looks like this meal has Eastern inspiration, serving noodles, sliced meats, grilled corn, and a soft-boiled egg.

This appears to be a split-pea soup with a grilled-cheese sandwich served in a waffle.

Fried cauliflower aside a variety of vegetables and blue rice are on offer in Carl’s Crispy Cauliflower dish. This is a plant-based meal.

In addition to the “Despica-bowls,” several other menu items were announced.

This chocolate cream puff is decorated with chocolate discs for ears and what look like chocolate button eyes.

This steak and cheese sandwich will be served with a pipette of sauce and a side of fried vegetable chips.

A grilled-cheese served in a waffle alongside a tiny banana and fried Minions are on the kids’ menu.

The new Illumination’s Minion Café will feature three themed areas designed after fan-favorite Minions Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto.

First is the Kitchen, where guests will see the Minions’ equipment and the gear they use to create the tasty creations on the menu.

The second themed area is called the Breakroom. Here, guests will be able to dine in the Minions’ hangout space. It includes “Office Safety Tips” as well as a vending machine full of unusual and mischievous items.

The third themed space will be the Dining Room. Here, café visitors will enjoy colorful artwork created by the Minions, of course.

An outdoor eating area will also be available, with the patio looking out over all the fun within Illumination’s Minion Land.
