TOKYO -- A movie from the popular "Kamen Rider" action series became the first to receive the "Eiteki Mark," issued to movies produced under certain working conditions, since the system was launched in April.
In an announcement dated July 17, major film company Toei Co. said that "Kamen Rider Geats the movie: 4 aces and the black fox" received the mark.
Eiteki, established in June 2022 in response to issues in the Japanese film industry, including staff working long hours at production sites without contracts, produced guidelines stipulating working hours and leave days among other matters. It started issuing the marks to films deemed to have been shot in accordance with the guidelines.
The latest Kamen Rider film is produced by Toei TV Production Co., which applied for certification on April 24. The movie will be released across Japan on July 28. The Eiteki Mark will appear in the film and its official website.
